Recorded by engineer by Kurt Ballou at God City Studios, “True Nihilist” is The Hope Conspiracy’s latest, and possibly greatest, recorded effort to date. From the first seconds of opener “In The Shadow Of God”, it is apparent that something wicked has awoken. With a rhythm section sounding like the beating heart of an animal about to pounce on its tender prey, the electricity they collectively create hangs in the air throughout the release. Making hairs stand on end before bursting out with their now trademark rage and intensity. Shockingly violent, this inhuman pace continues through the next ripper “Greed Taught…”, until the epic closer “Dismal Tide” crashes down as emotional debris from the fury. All in all, the three masterful tracks that make up “True Nihilist” are The Hope Conspiracy in true form, truly untamable. Silencing the naysayers, this beast is back.

Dasding.TV conducted an interview with SLIPKNOT percussionist Chris Fehn at this year’s Rock am Ring festival, which was held June 5-7, 2009 in Nürburgring, Germany. Watch the two-and-half-minute chat above.

The summer leg of the “All Hope Is Gone World Tour” marks SLIPKNOT’s first headline shows in America since early May, which featured the band playing to over 30,000 people during their headline slot at this year’s Rock on the Range festival in Columbus, Ohio.

2009 is a special year for the band, as it marks the 10th anniversary of their groundbreaking debut album. SLIPKNOT will be punishing crowds with classics from their self-titled first record, and will also be busting out tracks from the rest of their catalogue right up to their current album, “All Hope Is Gone”.

The latest single from “All Hope Is Gone”, “Sulfur”, is quickly climbing the charts at rock radio. MTV2 premiered the video, which is currently in regular rotation at the station as well as on Fuse. “Dead Memories” hit #1 at Rock radio and is a Top 20 Modern rock hit, while the album’s first single, “Psychosocial”, was Top 10 at Rock and Top 25 at Modern.

Quality fan-filmed video footage of W.A.S.P. performing the song “Wild Child” on June 19, 2009 at Hellfest in Clisson, France can be viewed above (courtesy of “FinnishPrkele”).

W.A.S.P. last year completed the European and North American legs of “The Crimson Idol Tour”, which kicked off on October 26, 2007 in Thessaloniki, Greece. The band performed the 1992 album in its entirety while never-before-seen video footage was being shown throughout the show. After a short break the group returned for another a 30-minute set of W.A.S.P. classics.

W.A.S.P.’s latest album, “Dominator”, was released in digipack and LP format on October 1, 2007 via Demolition Records. The digipack features a special 3D cover.

EVERGREEN TERRACE DRUMMER HURT IN BIKE ACCIDENT.

Evergreen Terrace drummer Kyle Mims was injured in a bike accident yesterday and will consequently miss the group’s upcoming tour. Here’s a statement from the band:

“After yesterday’s practice Kyle was in a horrific bike accident. He was rushed to the emergency room and released late last night full of stitches and a broken clavicle (collar bone). Unfortunately he will have to have surgery and physical therapy for the next 4-8 weeks. So for obvious reasons he will not be with us on our upcoming headlining shows or the Summer Slob tour with The Acacia Strain. Please wish Kyle a quick recovery. He’s pretty bummed out. Caleb James, our long time roadie and drummer for Casey Jones ,will be taking over drum duties for now. Check out all dates on our myspace.

This really just happened…
He’s drinking a cup of Vodka and insisted on speaking to me in Spanish after I insisted I didn’t speak spanish.
While I can’t be 100% sure of what he was saying, I’m confident it was something along the lines of, “Please post my picture on WMF and allow people to speculate as to why I am trashed at 930 am drinking vodka from a paper cup wearing a sick straw hat and slinking around East Boston making and trying to make a lasting first impression on potential new friends.” ( if you wish to play, “because it’s East Boston.” was my answer and cannot be used again)
